Dance Artist

Exploring connection through contemporary dance, choreography, improvisation, facilitation and yoga.

About Me

I have been lucky to have a varied career since graduating from the Scottish School of Contemporary Dance in 2022. Freelance work as a performer, dance artist and teaching artist have allowed me to connect with my own practice as well as to others in the Scottish contemporary dance sector.

As a performer, I enjoy working in a devised way creating work which reflects the bodies in the room, and this is reflected in my own practice as a choreographer. Through improvisational tasks, I thrive in finding a movement language specific to a project. Performance opportunities I have most enjoyed have allowed me to inhabit a world with its own style and language. I find this to be significant to my own as well as others’ creativity, personal identity and self-actualisation. Over the past few years, I have enjoyed taking part in several site-specific works, and find the process of collaboration with the environment and other creatives enriching.

Recently my practice has both broadened and deepened, with roles as Dance Artist, Assistant Producer and Yoga Instructor aligning with my priorities in practice. I strive to make everyone I work with feel heard, understood and cater for in all of these areas. They intertwine and give to each other, which allows for a holistic approach.
